This project was for the student-run magazine called “Midas” on the UNC Charlotte campus. This was made during the Fall 2023 semester. The concept of this shoot was to show how luxury is portrayed internally and externally. Part one of this shoot is entitled "Luxury" where the models are posed in a way that communicates an elevated status. The public perception of someone who has an exorbitant amount of money is being tested within this first part. Part two of this shoot is entitled "XS" which shows the internal battle that the 1% may struggle with. Some ideas that are challenged in this shoot are, doing anything you can to maintain your status, even if it means hurting yourself in the process. The spreads were designed by Christa Whickman, the design director for this issue.
