Midas Magazine Spring 2023

This project was for the student-run magazine called “Midas” on the UNC Charlotte campus. This was made during the Spring 2023 semester. The concept of this shoot was to show how your culture and identity show through in your aura. This was inspired by the psychology of color and how colors can portray an array of emotions. The aura was represented by the color of eyeshadow the models were wearing, and the color of the lights behind them. The photographs selected were paired with writing about culture and identity by Monique Delagy and designed by Troy Vong Nguyen. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Troy and provide assistance with the structure of the type and how it mixed with the photos. I won Niner Media’s “Best Photographer / Creative Staff” award with these photos in April of 2023.
